PCHS Waterloo Strategic Plan 2023, 2024, and 2025

3-Year Strategic Plan for PCHS Waterloo : Serving the South Asian Community.

January 2023 to December 2025
I. Executive Summary: PCHS Waterloo is committed to enhancing the well-being of the South Asian community through targeted programs. This strategic plan outlines key focus areas to ensure the organization’s growth, effectiveness, and sustainable impact.

II. Mandate: Empower the South Asian community in Waterloo Region through culturally relevant programs that foster youth development, support parenting, address addiction issues, and enhance the spiritual well-being of seniors. To be a leading organization in Waterloo Region Communities, recognized for its innovative and culturally sensitive approach in providing comprehensive social and health services to the South Asian community.

III. Mission: Empowering and nourishing diverse South Asian communities by providing culturally competent social and family services in outreach, settlement, and health in Waterloo Region.

IV. Vision: Leading the way in equitable care for diverse South Asian communities

2023 and 2024 goals are:

Strategic Goals and Objectives
1. Program Expansion:
a) Parenting Program:
i) Monthly in-person parenting program which will broadcast live on Facebook. 
ii) There will be parenting sessions, every month, on Zoom as well. Last Sunday of the month, 7 pm via Zoom virtual platform.
b) Addiction Group Program:
i) This program will be stating in September 2024.
ii) Addiction Facilitator’s Manual is ready.
iii) Two facilitators will be trained.
iv) The program with be a group program.
v) It is a 12-session program with a cost of $20 per session. Those who are undocumented and face financial hardship will be subsidized by PCHS Waterloo.
vi) Outreach: doctors, lawyers, probation officers, social media, etc.
c) Mental Health Group Program:
a) This program will be stating in September 2024.
b) Mental Health Facilitator’s Manual is ready.
c) Two facilitators will be trained.
d) The program with be a group program.
e) There is no cost to the participants.
f) Outreach: doctors, faith institutions, social media.

2. Community Engagement and Partnerships:
1) Population Survey:
a) Conduct a comprehensive South Asian population profile survey in Waterloo Region Communities to better understand community needs and preferences.
2) Partnerships:
a) Identify and establish partnerships with other social service organizations, aiming for collaboration on joint programs and shared resources.
3. Funding Diversification:
a) Funding Sources:
i. Conduct a thorough analysis of funding sources to ensure financial sustainability.
b) Seek Funding:
i. Explore and pursue funding opportunities from various sources, including:
ii. City of Waterloo Region Communities
iii. United Way Waterloo Region Communities
iv. Local Foundations
v. Ontario Health – Mental Health and Addictions
vi. New Horizon Seniors Program – Federal Government
vii. Federal Government Summer Students Program
viii. Violence Against Women Funding
ix. Youth Funding Opportunities

4. Technology Integration:
• Incorporate technology to improve program delivery, outreach, and data collection.
• Implement online resources for program participants and explore virtual engagement options.
VI. Implementation Plan:
1) Establish a dedicated team for program evaluation and impact assessment.
2) Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback and adjust programs accordingly.
3) Develop and execute a marketing and communication strategy to promote programs and attract participants.
4) Hire additional staff if needed to support the expanded programs and outreach efforts.

VII. Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress of each program  and measure the impact on the South Asian community.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of partnerships and funding strategies.

• This strategic plan outlines a roadmap for PCHS Waterloo to enhance its impact on the South Asian community.
• Through program expansion, community engagement, diversified funding, and technological integration, PCHS Waterloo will continue to be a vital resource for the well-being of the South Asian population in Waterloo Region Communities.

responsive to the evolving needs of the community
